Who We Are
International Baptist Church of Budapest (IBCB) was established in 1991 to serve the English-speaking community here in Hungary. We serve attendees of many denominations from over 30 nations from around the world. We exist to offer a safe haven of Biblical teaching, growth and fellowship in English.

We believe
...the Bible to
be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
...that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
...in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory.
...that for the salvation of the lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.
...in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.
...in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

IBCB Mission:
As a multicultural fellowship of Christ-followers we desire to inspire and challenge each other in knowing Christ, growing in Christ and showing Christ to the world.
• Know Christ through building each other up in our relationship with Him.
• Grow in Christ through encouraging and equipping each other for ministry.
• Show Christ to the world around us in all we do.
IBCB Vision:
We envision a church of vibrant relationships that engages people to follow Christ and impacts our families and communities for Christ.
IBCB Values: We base all ministries, worship services, and small group meetings upon a Biblical foundation.
Serving: . We encourage everyone to use their God given gifts and talents to build up the body of Christ and to serve one another.
Worship: We value worshiping together.
Openness/Welcoming: Our church is open and welcomes everyone to join us regardless of their former denominational or cultural background.
Relationships: We seek to deepen and strengthen our relationships with God and with one another.
Diversity: We embrace the multinational, multicultural nature of our church as we gather for worship, teaching, and fellowship.

Governance
IBCB’s governance is laid down in our constitution, with an elder board that currently has 4 members with 2 new members installed at the end of June 2026.

Elders, except for the pastor who is also automatically an elder, are nominated and ratified by the congregation for 3 year terms in accordance with our constitution and our Elder Profile Document.
Our pastor is nominated by a pastor selection committee and voted upon by the
entire congregation for acceptance.
Ministry Leaders are selected as laid down in the constitution.
IBCB is registered through the Baptist Union of Hungary, and
we are a member of the International Baptist Convention— an association of
English language churches all across Europe.
